Behind the Things Unseen

Our names are Abby and Stephen and we are the creators of Things Unseen. Both of us are native to Phoenix, Arizona, where we still reside and call home. We were married in the spring of 2017, and despite us both being born, raised, and are still living in Phoenix, the crisp damp air and the dramatic coastline of the Pacific Northwest calls to us. It’s where we find our inspiration. No hard feelings to the beautiful Arizona landscape, but there’s something about the water that is pure bliss to us desert dwellers.

 We found our passion in travel and are obsessed with visiting new cities. We always make certain to do two things every time we travel: take lots of photos and hit up the local antique shops. For Stephen, it was the photos. For Abby, it’s a love of interior design, fashion, and accessories.

We believe that a home needs layers for each space to feel lived in. We started our marriage by making our home feel interesting with finds from our travels, adorning our house in antiques, books, textiles, and art. We started our brand in the form of fine art photography with the idea that one must fill their walls with meaningful works. We believe that art should feel personal, should serve a purpose well, and make one feel at home.
